Lake Claire Poolside Screened Porch

This project involved a thoughtfully designed addition to a charming bungalow in the Lake Claire neighborhood of Atlanta. The clients, who were concurrently constructing a new pool, sought a seamless transition between their indoor living space and the outdoor pool area. While their initial vision included a simple low-slope shed roof extending from the house, Anne envisioned something far grander. The result is an impressive design that not only enhances the home’s aesthetic appeal but also creates a striking visual connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The new addition features a spacious screened porch that allows for an uninterrupted connection to the outdoors, filling the area with fresh air and natural light while providing protection from the elements. The vaulted ceiling adds a sense of openness and grandeur, making the space feel even more inviting. Additionally, this innovative design allowed for an expansion of the primary bedroom upstairs, creating a luxurious retreat with enhanced privacy and comfort. The project successfully marries the traditional charm of the bungalow with modern design elements, resulting in a space that is both functional and visually striking.
